Podcast Is Go!
February 25th, 2008 at 9:58 am
After spending a few hours setting up microphones and yelling at a laptop, we’ve recorded another installment of the Ryan Davis Weekly Podcast Classic, the Arrow Pointing Down podcast.
Sounds like there’s a bit of echo, primarily from mic bleed if I had to guess, but the high ceiling in my living room probably didn’t help matters much. Either way, it sounds way better than the Skype-based test we did last week, and is probably more scattered and insane than last week’s, too! So check that out!
February 25th, 2008 at 10:29 am
Stellar podcasting! Looking forward to the next episode. 100% improvement over last week - The quality was really good and the fact that you were in the same room made it so much better. Thanx and keep up the good work guys!!
February 25th, 2008 at 10:33 am
Jeff ftw
February 25th, 2008 at 10:51 am
That was decisively … random? Awsome none the less! Keep ‘em comin’!!!
February 25th, 2008 at 10:51 am
I can’t get over the superb intro/outro music. It’s so intense. Makes me think of the music they played under the announcer on Double Dare when he was telling people what prizes they were competing for.
February 25th, 2008 at 10:55 am
You guys just made my day man……and that’s an understatement!
February 25th, 2008 at 10:55 am
Just subscribed on the UK iTunes Podcast section. Um haven’t listened to it yet but its telling me that both potcasts are 1 minute 1 second long which seems a bit wrong really. Anyone else get this? Know how to solve it?
You guys are somehow already the number 1 podcast on the UK iTunes too… surely theres some problem here lol
February 25th, 2008 at 11:01 am
The Upside-down A looks awesome on my iPod touch when I listened to the podcast. So glad you guys are bringing the fire.
February 25th, 2008 at 11:10 am
Calling this podcast “classic” is in no way premature.
I love it, three thumbs up.
February 25th, 2008 at 11:14 am
“probably more scattered and insane than last week’s”
that means its better!
February 25th, 2008 at 11:27 am
Yeah, Alex was echoing pretty bad.
February 25th, 2008 at 11:41 am
Best thing to listen to on a long drive!
February 25th, 2008 at 11:42 am
Woohoo~! i shall listen and be filled with Jeff/Ryan joy~ *.*
February 25th, 2008 at 11:45 am
good edition of the arrow pointing down podcast. i didn’t get along with Jelly Car either - it’s sooooo annoying.
February 25th, 2008 at 11:48 am
I was kinda a fan of the skype sound, dont know why but Your voice on skype sounded…better? maybe not. The echo was a little trippy, especially when you managed to hear the furture…ot something like that im not sure what was going on.
It was Good.
February 25th, 2008 at 11:58 am
Yes!! Could not have come soon enough.
February 25th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
Good news jeff… thanks
February 25th, 2008 at 12:08 pm

February 25th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
It’s been a week already!
I’m downloading now and can’t wait to listen to it.
February 25th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
Would you guys define Pacman as an open world game?
February 25th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
that was quite entertaining
February 25th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
all kinds of awesome
February 25th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
Dude! You guys need to put this up on iTunes , I mean once you guys finalize what you’re really doing, it would be hell cool, man.
February 25th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
Sweet. I love these.
February 25th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
Downloaded to iTunes. Awaiting my hearing pleasure.
February 25th, 2008 at 4:27 pm
A bit less polished and a bit less about games then your old gamespot podcast but this is definitely something I like. Keep them comming PLEASE !

Downloading now
February 25th, 2008 at 5:03 pm
Who was the mystery guest?!
February 25th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
I’m so happy you’re podcasting again. When I lost the Hotspot, I tried replacing it with Game Theory, but it’s just not the same. Long live the Arrow Pointing Down-cast!
Bring on Rich and Carrie! And Bob!
February 25th, 2008 at 6:22 pm
The drink discussions and reviews should be a weekly segment for the drink enthusiast such as myself.
February 25th, 2008 at 6:45 pm
this is easilly becoming my favorite podcast
February 25th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
ALEX NAVARRO IS ON TOO ??!!?? W00T ROBOCOP FTW
February 25th, 2008 at 6:51 pm
The whole thing felt random… But awesome nonetheless.
February 25th, 2008 at 8:33 pm
Grood podcast. Not great, not good, it was Grood. I suggest less talk about gatorade, more talk about games.
keep it comming
February 25th, 2008 at 8:35 pm
Awesome keep ‘em coming Jeff!
February 25th, 2008 at 10:44 pm
Great, but volume could be a little higher.
February 25th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
Intro music F ing rules. And Word bitch we out! loololol
February 26th, 2008 at 12:00 am
You might end up getting sucked into Lost… cuz the game is getting amazing reviews.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:02 am
Hey Jeff, just a suggestion (which is irrelevant to this article btw), how about getting some colour on your blog page? Or something besides black…It’s kinda depressing to look at when i’m here…Some banners and such like Ryans and Alex’s page would also be a good idea.
February 26th, 2008 at 3:05 am
Great Podcast… I’m now signed up over iTunes… THIS is the reason I listened to HotSpot.
I have so many VHS tapes with that intro jingle its awesome.
Question though… Goldeneye on the 360… Likelihood of this ever happening ?
February 26th, 2008 at 6:00 am
Bizarrely enough, this crew has quickly skyrocketed to the top of my favored podcasts list. Irreverent, funny, but still thoughtful.
In fact, all of you are much more entertaining without the restraints of an employer to mind. I hope you can keep it up and figure out where Rich Gallup is and bring him along for the ride.
February 26th, 2008 at 7:25 am
Bizarre podcast. I like it. Two things:
1. Need a bit more work on your levels. Alex sounded like he was in a cave and Jeff occasionally made my ears bleed.
2. Can you please hunt down Rich Gallup and get him on?
February 26th, 2008 at 7:43 am
I love this podcast, I’ve already subscribed on iTunes
February 26th, 2008 at 8:31 am
Probably the funniest podcast I’ve heard since The Hotspot, the ‘Haze is the shit’ thing xD
February 26th, 2008 at 9:44 am
“and jeff I see you have a candy bar over there, you wanna talk about that for a little bit?”
“yeah I do…”
classic
February 26th, 2008 at 10:02 am
nice podcast, woohoo
February 26th, 2008 at 10:23 am
I’m really enjoying the food parts. I think my favorite HotSpot ever was the one where you guys wouldn’t stop mocking Oreo Pizza, so this is right up my alley.
February 26th, 2008 at 10:30 am
Nice podcast. Way better than the present Hotspot. Cant wait for the next one. Although I would wish if you could stop swearing. It’s really not funny.
February 26th, 2008 at 10:31 am
WAIT one darn minute, “Korn On Xbox Live
Challenge Jonathan Davis to a rousing game of Halo 3.
by IGN Music.” Huh? Need i say more?
February 26th, 2008 at 11:52 am
Don’t listen to Greven man. I love the swearing. It just feels more authentic. That was my biggest problem with the Hotspot. I can’t stand when people bleep words out.
February 26th, 2008 at 11:52 am
SUCCESS!!
February 26th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
Speaking of the HotSpot, you guys gonna bring back the music??
February 26th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
Very nice improvement in sound quality + good balance between funny and serious content… will look forward to this every week!
February 26th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
A few more points:
Intro music is great !
Food segment should be a regular inclusion, talk about all sorts of food; snacks , drinks, favourite fast food joints etc.
Get it just a bit more organised and bring on Rich Gallup !
Thanks again.
//Niklas
February 26th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
The fucking intro music is awesome
February 26th, 2008 at 9:52 pm
Hearing the PBS intro at the beginning is such a subliminal way to bring me back to that feeling of watching television as a kid…you sly cheeky bastards! Another great podcast but please tell Ryan to stay off the Pabst Blue Ribbon…that is hobo fuel.
February 27th, 2008 at 8:56 am
Awesome Podcast. Once you guys left I deleted my Hotspot podcast and was without the awesomeness you deliver. It is still a bit random and a bit bad on sound levels, but I know that will improve.
If you can get Rich Gallup on this podcast the circle would be complete.
February 27th, 2008 at 12:56 pm
Google you can’t beat 100% and see what google has to say about it.
February 27th, 2008 at 8:03 pm
Is the intro music an actuall song or did you just make it for the podcast either way i need moar! MP3 pleeeeeeease
February 28th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
The RSS for the podcast does not seem to support the PSP something it don’t like is in the HTML or something.
Just spits out HTML. THat reall sucks since i use my psp for podcast on the go with RSS.
the intro music is like from a 1980’s cartoon VHS tapes I have herd it before.
March 5th, 2008 at 8:38 am
Bring back GALLUP!
… epic.
