Quick Programming Note
January 16th, 2008 at 11:34 pm
I’ll be appearing on a podcast over at IGN next Tuesday called "AFK" along with some other folks that write about games! I’m pretty excited about it because it’s precisely the sort of thing I wouldn’t have been able to participate in until recently.
IGN’s Jeremy Dunham has the full scoop on his blog. When the program is up, I’ll post again with a link to it.
Also, the next edition of Points! is currently encoding over on Vimeo and will be available in a few hours. It’s just over an hour long, which is probably waaaaay too long for something like this. Expecting someone to sit and watch me talk with no edits for 60 minutes is complete insanity.

That is great Jeff. I’m excited to see you get back into the swing of things. Been a fan of yours for quite some time now. I’ll be listening.
XBL GT : JimmyBones
Lets game!
January 16th, 2008 at 11:43 pm
don’t worry, I’ll watch it at some point in between my Viva Pinata antics and COD 4 rampages. Always love your spirit and perspective you bring to the topics of which you speak.
January 16th, 2008 at 11:50 pm
Expecting people to sit and watch you for an hour is not insanity. What is insane is that people actually do! Including me. Jeff at IGN is about as crazy as Sonic on a Nintendo console seamed before it happened.
January 16th, 2008 at 11:59 pm
Cool… Il probably watch the whole points video too xD
January 17th, 2008 at 12:00 am
SCOOP! Looking forward to the podcast. Will be interesting I must say.
January 17th, 2008 at 12:03 am
Yeah, its great to see you back to it. I just found out about this blog through the jan 8th episode of hotspot today, and it made my day. already in my favorite. one question I have is that, will you continue to write game reviews on your blog? just wondering. but either way, this and the link to rich, ryan and alex’s blogs definately made my day.

Once you infiltrate the building, make sure you steal as many office supplies as you possibly can. And Hilary’s beer stash.
January 17th, 2008 at 12:20 am
Hey Jeff, I think I can speak for a lot of people that your personality and enthusiasm for gaming really keeps gaming news fun and entertaining. Your wit was the only reason i was an avid subscriber to all of the ‘previous’ podcasts you hosted, and it’s great to hear from you again. Greatest luck with the show!
January 17th, 2008 at 12:36 am
Looking forward to it. And an hour isn’t too long IMO.
January 17th, 2008 at 1:20 am
Quick! Somebody start a countdown for the
‘The Return Of The Jeff – The IGN Podcast’!
(And also will somebody please come up with a sexier name for this event?)
January 17th, 2008 at 1:26 am
Keep doing what your doing Jeff, everyone is behind you. Your one of the few people I ever really enjoyed watching on the topic of games. most of the time it seems like a random head droning on about whatever the topic at hand may be, but you always put some personality into it that makes it that much more interesting.
You can count me in to watch the whole episode of Points!
January 17th, 2008 at 1:31 am
You under estimate how much spare time we have. I’ll both be there and be square.
January 17th, 2008 at 1:55 am
60 minutes of Points! ?
AWESOME.
My favourite parts are when you just go off on a tangent.
January 17th, 2008 at 1:57 am
A new Points! And you’re appearing on an IGN podcast, sweet, this is great news. Lots of Jeffy goodness.
January 17th, 2008 at 2:09 am
I think I’m insane enough to go through even 2 hours of Points!
January 17th, 2008 at 2:12 am
I don’t mean to spam, but I found the Jan-12 post to be interesting: http://proentnet15.blogspot.com/
Enjoy.
January 17th, 2008 at 2:27 am
just to let u know:
keep on going, jeff!
i appreciate the honest and profound way of your reviews
and i the long run being independent and authentic is,
admittedly not the easiest choice, but the only one that it’s worth for.
So go on – we’ll come along…
January 17th, 2008 at 2:29 am
60 minutes is perfectly fine with me.
January 17th, 2008 at 2:37 am
I don’t know what is a bigger symbol that the End of Days is upon us.
Mario & Sonic being in a game together or you appearing on IGN.
January 17th, 2008 at 3:14 am
Really glad to hear you’ll be on the IGN podcast, Jeff. We’ve missed you. Now all you need to do is go on 1UPyours…I think you have an open invitation to that one!
January 17th, 2008 at 8:04 am
Oh nice, I’ll be around to give that a listen, Jeff.
Good work on the new report, keep ‘em coming!
January 17th, 2008 at 8:24 am
Any way you could also make your points video into a podcast as well and add it to itunes. Totally miss hearing you on the hotspot, and a podcast makes it easier to check you out while at work. Plus i have DSL which it usually take a while to download a video.
Keep up the good work.
January 17th, 2008 at 8:30 am
Hey the longer the better man.. it’s not like we get to watch and listen to you talk about games as regularly as before anyway so it’s all good.
The more the better!
Ciao!
January 17th, 2008 at 10:40 am
Thanks for the heads up, ill definetly catch it.
January 17th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
True. An appearance on 1Up Yours would’ve been cool, but beggars can’t be choosers. Guess I’ll have to subscribe to IGN (then unsubscribe shortly afterwards, unless IGN becomes a more permanent thing for you ‘)
January 17th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
I heard them talking about some “new” and “exciting” things for the podcast which has been on hiatus for a while. I immediately thought of you, and Wow it is you, nice work Jeff the IGN guys are really cool, i hope you meet Greg Miller, he is the Jeff Gerstmann of IGN
January 17th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Wow, you appearing on an IGN podcast is going to be very strange to listen to. I’ve listened to both the Hotspot and various IGN podcasts for quite some time, but to see them collide like this? Should be awesome.
Wouldn’t mind hearing you on 1up yours either.
January 17th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
DUDE THATS EFFING AWESOME!
is this a one time thing or…?
I CAN FINALLY HERE YOUR VOICE AGAIN
January 17th, 2008 at 7:28 pm
I knew that you would have been selected to be in the new revamped version of “AFK” and I’m glad to hear that I was right. I’ll be looking forward to the podcast!
January 17th, 2008 at 11:48 pm
I can’t wait to listen that podcast, i’m a fan of yours for a long time and i’m looking to see what you’re going to do next ! Of course my dream would be to see you at 1up.

Greetings from Switzerland Jeff, you rock !!!
January 18th, 2008 at 8:51 am
Cool. I guess I’m going to have to give it a listen.
January 18th, 2008 at 10:54 am
the return of jeff on the airways. yes!!!!
January 18th, 2008 at 11:22 am
Thats awesome, Jeff. Your fans have been starving.
“The Gerst-mann Cometh” ??…maybe?… no?
January 19th, 2008 at 6:38 pm
Awesome! I love the IGN podcasts. Shoe is a pretty cool guy too. Sounds like it’ll be a great podcast.
They dropped the “IGN is” from AFK? Seems a bit pointless.
