Upcoming COD4 (360/PS3) Changes

Looks like Infinity Ward is planning some playlist changes for Call of Duty 4. Fixing some bugs, too.

I’ve been rolling with a crew lately, but I really like the addition of Mercenary Team Deathmatch. It stops you from playing with friends. That means it’ll prevent you from getting hooked up with those ridiculous clan types that are, let’s face it, way better than you or I will ever be.

i like the idea of host cycling as it worked quite well in call of duty 3. at the moment every time a host doesent want to play a specific map he/she quits which is quite frustrating as it’s usually on pipeline (my personal favorite).
mercenary team deathmatch sound great as it’s very anoying when you join a team dethmatch only to be faced by six people from the same clan, reguardless of an individuals skill the use of tactics within a six person team is always more effective than 6 lone wolfs. I personaly frown at people who operate in clan enviroments and it sounds like mercernary is the mode for me. however… I just hope it wont end after each individual round sending you back to search for another server.
I hope the map cycling actuall works properly after this update as i am really sick of evey second map being district (my least favorite map) of the bog (good map im just sick to death of it)
its great you made a place to share you views and opinions jeff, i have but two quick questions.
1. could jeffgerstmann.net be the new home for the points report? of some similar production?
2. Are there particular cod4 maps you like or dislike?

Of course clans are better… their high school kids with big wallets (or at least their parents do) and tooooo much spare time.
Well at least they´re not out there shooting people or sniffing glue. I guess the glass is half full… full of what? I live that answer up to you.

I played ONE game online, that was the first Age of Empires, after a few games of that on the old Microsoft Zone, I found out that you may be able to beat the computer on the hardest difficulty, but there is always going to be those snot nosed kids with the colorful language that are a billion times better then you will ever be. Thats why I don’t see myself playing CoD4 online, I wouldn’t perform very well.

Good to see you that you’re alive, well, and blogging sir! Hopefully I’ll see you in COD4 sometime soon – my progress through the pile of unplayed games has come to a grinding halt since I became one of those “ridiculous clan types” recently.

Nice to know you’re still here with us and haven’t gone into the dark. This additional new play list “Mercenary Team Deathmatch” looks interesting. Sadly I have become a member of one of those clans although sometimes I like to go solo or teaming up with a friend or two. I have also noticed a few bugs and glitches through out the multiplayer game play but nothing bad just some minor issue’s. It looks like Infinity Ward have done well with this years new Call of Duty and it also looks like it’s going to be this years game of the year so well done to “Infinity Ward” and thanks Jeff I probaly would of never known about this information if you never wrote this blog.

It’s actually surprising how awful a lot of the clans are that play “COD4.” There will be, like, four or five of them to a clan, and they are all just horrendous, scoring on average in, say, an S&D match, around 4 or 5
It makes me laugh, in truth.
